About Me and My Philosophy

I received my Psychology degree in 1994 from The University of Southwestern Louisiana and my Master's in Counseling in 1998 from the University of Memphis. I have worked in just about every treatment setting for the past 25 years. I offer talk therapy using multiple modalities, Brainspotting therapy, and life skills training to improve the health and well-being of individuals and families.

I see problems and symptoms often having root causes that date back to early childhood. "Healing Home" are two words that have resonated in my mind since I began working with those effected by family violence. The mind, body and soul are compromised when early traumatic experiences occur. These experiences take "root" and must be integrated through healing processes to clear the way for optimal health of the whole person. Hence, Healing Home came to be and my purpose is creating the space where this healing can occur. I am just a small integral part. It is a person's innate ability to heal oneself from emotional pain if given the space and a willingness to do so.

Processing experiences fully and living in the present can reduce inner conflict, relationship conflict, negative consequences, and physical health problems. Therapy offers introspection, new insights, and allows your intuition to be heard. Through creative expansion, experiential awareness exercises, and natural stress relievers, a more peaceful life can evolve. Spirituality is welcome and can be essential to the therapeutic process.
If people are deeply connected to their essence, and realize their value(s), then they are likely to feel confident to pursue dreams and live their purpose.
